Symptoms
CIFS users get the below error when connecting to a CIFS share on a certain NAS server on the Unity array:
"Network BIOS session limit exceeded"
Cause
This is usually caused by client behavior where some users continue to setup CIFS sessions but never close them. If the session number reaches a certain limit, new sessions are rejected.
Resolution
Modify the parameter on the NAS server that is responsible for logging out idle users to a smaller value. This removes inactive sessions and resolve the issue.
