For a Windows License server:
For a Linux License server:
- Make a copy of the license (.lic file) that you downloaded from the licensing portal and move it to the rpowermt server.
(C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\EMC\PowerPath\rpowermt\)
- Edit the .lic file on the rpowermt server removing all but the top three lines, and save the file. This is your license-config file.
- Copy the full .lic file that you got from PowerLink to the License Server, save in a convenient location. On the License server open LMTools and ensure that "Path to the license file" field on the Config Services tab points at the location of the .lic file.
- On the Start/Stop/Reread tab, click ReRead License File.
- Check the "Server Status" from LMTools to ensure that the license is being read correctly.
- From the rpowrmt server run rpowermt register host=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX.
For a Linux License server:

-
- /etc/emc
- /etc/emc/licenses
- /opt/EMCpower
- /opt/EMCpower/licenses
- Edit the .lic file on the rpowermt server removing all but the top three lines, and save the file. This is your license-config file.
- Copy the full .lic file that you got from PowerLink to the License Server, save in a convenient location. On the License server run:
./lmgrd c <license_file_list> -l [+]<logfile> -L
Where <license_file_list> is the full path to the license file.
- Check the "Server Status." Run ./lmutil lmstat a to ensure that the license is being read correctly.
- From the rpowrmt server run rpowermt register host=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX.
