Symptoms
CyberSense does not identify the same infections twice.
For example, on day 1, a host had a ransomware attack and was backed up. After the analyze job of this backup copy ran, CyberSense detected the attack and showed an alert.
On day 2, the same ransomware file on that host was unchanged and was backed up. After the analyze job of this backup copy ran, CyberSense did not flag that as an infection.
Cause
The product is working as designed.
Resolution
CyberSense is designed so that once an alert is triggered, customers are to clear the host. For example, restore the backup to a clean state. Then, clear the infected state alert in the CyberSense UI. Then, the next time there is a new attack on that host, CyberSense will detect it.
