PowerSwitch: OS10: How to check switch ONIE and BIOS versions

Summary: The purpose of this article is to provide instructions on how to verify what BIOS and ONIE versions are installed in the switch before updating OS10.

Instructions

To check what BIOS version the switch is running, issue the OS10 command: show system

To verify if the switch is up to date on the BIOS and ONIE versions, check the Dell Support website. Reference the service tag or switch model.

Note: In current versions of OS10 the PCIe, BIOS, BMC, Firmware Updater, ONIE, and SSD versions are all present in the output of "show system". Example below:

To check the ONIE version on the switch on older versions of OS10, issue the command: system "/mnt/onie-boot/onie/tools/bin/onie-version"
