Detail: <NoPermissionFault xmlns="urn:vim25" xsi:type="NoPermission"><object type="ClusterComputeResource">domain-c8</object><privilegeId>Resource.AssignVMToPool</privilegeId></NoPermissionFault> ' avvcbimage Error <0000>: [IMG2012] VM creation failed during restore. avvcbimage Info <9772>: Starting graceful (staged) termination, Create VM failed during restore. Cause
Avamar/vCenter service account is missing permission VM Resource.AssignVMToPool.
Resolution
Edit the Role, under Resources, assign/check "Assign virtual machine to resource pool".
This permission is also documented on the Dell Avamar for VMware 19.9 User Guide under "Assign virtual machine to resource pool".
