VCF on VxRail: Node expansion fails in UI, 500 internal error

Symptoms

The VxRail nodes have already been expanded into VxRail, but are failing to be ingested in the UI.

From the UI perspective, a 500 Internal Error occurs when opening the Add VxRail Nodes in SDDC Manager UI.

Attempting to validate by API the ingestion (SDDC Manager UI > Go to Developer Center > API Explorer > Clusters > POST /v1/clusters/{id}/validations): domainmanager.log shows errors similar to the following:

com.vmware.vxrail.vcf.hostmanager.error.VxRailHostManagerException: Unable to retrieve the host attributes.

Cause

SDDC Manager expects the ESXI Management Port group to be the default name of "Management Network-...." in order to identify them.

Resolution

Rename the port group to start with "Management Network…"
