HOST ERRORS:

In a normal operating environment, STAR rotates and resets the SDDF sessions through the SCF1496I and SCF1497I messages. Recovery is made available and noted through the SCF1525I message.

Since we cannot query the state of sessions because they go missing in the syscall, SCF1496I or SCF1497I messages will not be seen. Recovery does not get enabled (SCF1525I) as a result of this.

Another indicator of the problem is that the SCF15DEI message is seen constantly, coupled with no SCF1496I or SCF1497I messages.

13.06.53 J0888660 SCF15DEI MSC - GROUP=STAR (cuu,grp) SDDF RESET IN PROGRESS

Or SDDF outright fails:

12.22.40 J0827876 SCF154CE MSC - GROUP=STAR (cuu,grp) SDDF RESET processing failed in Symm 0000000-000000

Cause

This is due to a microcode issue. The FMAP is not consistent across all directors. The Map Bit and the Check Bit are inconsistent. The syscall 9242_02 is not returning all devices that were registered for the STAR session. This is due to recent changes that went into the code beginning at 10.2.0.0. This can cause a failure of a trip command, or the refresh becoming unresponsive. This issue does not affect an active STAR session. It is seen during a STAR activation.

Resolution

Contact the Support Center and quote this article ID.

Workaround:

Disable all FMAP by Inlines by Support.

**This change does not survive a reset (IML) of any sort. After a reset (code upgrade, director replacement, so on), this workaround must be done once again as soon as possible.**

Permanent Solution:
All FMAP (RECA or SDDF) is disabled at 10.2.0.x (PMOS-66435) and 10.3.0.0.
