Instructions
This event code indicates that the specific VxRail appliance received iDRAC event: NIC100 - "The <Controller> Port <Port> network link is down."
The following situations may cause this alert to trigger:
- Failure of network cables
- Network cables disconnected
- Failure of the physical network card
- Failure of other network components (switches, ports, SFPs, and so forth)
Troubleshooting:
- Reset the iDRAC, see: How to reset the iDRAC.
- Physical power drain on the node, see: How to power drain a node.
- Reseat the cabling and SFP on the down port.
- Swap SFPs between the down port and a good port.
- Swap cabling between the down port and a good port.
If the failure remains on the same port after swapping SFPs and cabling, then the NIC may need replaced.
