Unable to backup nested Container folders: Exception in thread "ScheduledGroupBackupRunnable" java.lang.StackOverflowError.

Unable to backup VMs in containers. When trying to initiate backup, it fails with no option to view details.

VM Container is nested under two layers.

Cause

Configuration.
Recursive Protection was not checked.

Resolution

  1. Delete backup policy.
  2. Re-create the backup policy and ensure that Recursive Protection is marked under the Parent Container.
