Symptoms

The user has upgraded the Compute Only (CO) resource group after completing the upgrade of PowerFlex Manager along with the gateways and the Management cluster. The next step was to update the SO node resource group. When the user tries to click the "Non-Compliant" Link after clicking the SO Node resource group, it takes them to the Compliance Report.

The user is unable to select any node inside the SO RG to start the upgrade.  

Cause

The upgrade guide Dell PowerFlex Appliance with PowerFlex 4.x Upgrade Guid mentions what the correct upgrade sequence is. (Log in as a registered Dell Support user may be required to view this document)

  1. Upgrade the PowerFlex Manager
  2. Upgrade the vCenter
  3. Upgrade the CloudLink Center
  4. Upgrade the Management Controller 
  5. Upgrade the PowerFlex Nodes 

 

 

Resolution

CloudLink must be upgraded before the Storage Only Resource Group.
