Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Data Domain Autosupport (ASUP) Files.
Live Optics requires Data Domain Autosupport files to perform an assessment. These files can be obtained in several ways:
Option 1: Existing file system
Ensure that the Autosupport files are saved as text files and stored on a file system accessible to the Live Optics collector.
Option 2: Email
Use Data Domain support documentation to generate and send Autosupports using email.
Save the received email as a text file using your email client or copy and paste the content into a text editor.
Store the file on a file system accessible to the Live Optics collector.
Option 3: Download from Data Domain
Follow Data Domain support documentation to download Autosupports directly from the system.
Save the files to a location accessible to the Live Optics collector.
Option 4: Direct Access from Collector
Ensure that you have the IP address of the Data Domain system and valid credentials.
The collector can connect directly to the system to retrieve Autosupports.
Step 2: Launch the Assessment in Live Optics.
Open the Live Optics collector.
From the left navigation panel, select Data Protection.
Choose Data Domain from the available assessments.
Step 3: Select ASUP Files.
Option A: Browse for ASUPs.
Choose Browse for ASUPs and click Next.
Either:
Manually enter the path and click Add Path,
or,
Use Select Folder to browse to the folder containing ASUP files.
The collector scans the folder for valid ASUPs.
If no valid files are found or unsupported versions are detected, a message appears.
Click Next once a valid ASUP is identified.
Option B: Automatically Scan ASUPs.
Choose to retrieve ASUPs directly from the Data Domain system.
Enter the system’s IP address, username, and password.
Click Next to initiate the connection.
A message confirms success or failure of the retrieval.
Step 4: Choose Upload Option.
Option 1: Upload Automatically
Select Upload my collection data to the Live Optics web portal automatically.
Enter a project name when prompted.
Click Next to begin the upload and create the project.
Monitor the project status and download output files from the Live Optics portal.
Option 2: Upload Later
Select, "I will upload later" (requires upload of generated SIOKIT file).
Choose a file name and location (the default is the collector’s directory).
Click Create File to generate the SIOKIT file.
Later, upload the file to the Live Optics portal to create a project and access the results.
