Symptoms

Während der Installation von hostbasiertem Unisphere werden ein Postgres-Nutzer und eine postgres-Gruppe erstellt und diese Fehlermeldung wird angezeigt:

Unisphere for VMAX Configuration Error. Installation will be aborted.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Please check the Unisphere for VMAX documentation to fix this configuration issue.
SMAS Database timeout cannot be started.

 

# service smas start

Cause

Überprüfen Sie, ob der postgres-Nutzer in /etc/passwd angezeigt wird als /sbin/nologin

Zum Beispiel:

 

/etc/passwd:postgres:x:504:504::/home/postgres:/sbin/nologin
/etc/group:postgres:x:504:

 

Resolution

So beheben Sie dieses Problem:

  1. Ändern Sie die /etc/passwd Damit der Postgres-Nutzer über eine gültige Shell verfügt. Zum Beispiel: /bin/bash
  2. Deinstallieren Sie dann Unisphere for VMAX und installieren Sie es erneut.
