Symptome

XPS 14 9440 laptop cannot detect its battery, or it does not charge

 

The following battery issues are seen on the XPS 14 9440 laptop:

  • The laptop is not detecting the laptop battery. It does not list any battery information in the laptop's BIOS, and it does not charge.
  • The laptop is detecting the laptop battery, but it does not charge after connecting the AC adapter to the laptop.

Lösung

Note: Administrator rights are required to make any operating system changes or update any software.

Updating to Dell XPS 14 9440 System BIOS version 1.17.0, or later on the laptop resolves the issue. See the instructions in the following link to download and install the XPS_14_9440_1.17.0.exe update file:
