Usterka PowerPath.
Podczas NDU VPLEX kilka sekund po powrocie VPLEX Director uległ awarii. Ujawniło to błąd w PowerPath związany z otwarciami urządzeń, co spowodowało, że PowerPath wydał dodatkowe wydanie. To dodatkowe wydanie powoduje stan use-after-free i panikę jądra Linuksa.
Podczas NDU VPLEX kilka sekund po powrocie VPLEX Director uległ awarii. Ujawniło to błąd w PowerPath związany z otwarciami urządzeń, co spowodowało, że PowerPath wydał dodatkowe wydanie. To dodatkowe wydanie powoduje stan use-after-free i panikę jądra Linuksa.
Lösung
PowerPath 6.1 HF1 i przyszłe wersje PowerPath zawierają poprawkę tego błędu.
Weitere Informationen
Zarówno Red Hat, jak i PowerPath Engineering były w stanie odtworzyć ten stan w laboratorium niezależnie od VPLEX NDU. Oprócz śladu wstecznego klienta zaobserwowano kilka różnych śladów paniki.
Ze względu na charakter use-after-free, rzeczywistą panikę można zaobserwować w kilku miejscach.
