Rugged Laptop and Tablet Touch Modes

Note: Issues with touch in different conditions may be resolved by switching modes.

To switch between touch modes the eGalaxDr.Touch Application must be installed. Find correct download for your device on the computers Driver & Download page.

Note: Not all Dell Rugged laptops use the eGalazxDr.Touch application, reference the Drivers & Download page of your specific laptop to find the touchscreen application for your model (for exmaple, PDA Touch-Panel Application)

To switch between touch modes, open the application and select your desired mode. Currently selected mode will be highlighted in red.

The touch options are:

  • Finger/Passive Stylus: Use this mode in typical, dry environments. This mode should be used unless a special mode is necessary. Touch will work with finger touch and the passive stylus.
  • Water: Use this when in a condition where water droplets will be on the screen, such as rain. This mode helps the device differentiate between droplets and intentional touches to increase accuracy.
  • Glove: Use this mode when using touch with gloves.
