Dell Command | Configure, Command | Power, Command | Monitor and Command | Update are packaged software utilities that provide configuration capability to business client computers. These products consist of a Command-Line Interface (CLI) and Graphical User Interface (UI) to configure various BIOS features.

Command | Configure (Formerly Client Configuration Toolkit)

Dell Command | Configure is a packaged software that provides configuration capability to business client computers. You can configure the client computers using a Graphical UI or a CLI.

Command | Power Manager

Dell Command | Power Manager software provides simplified and efficient power management capabilities for Dell laptops and tablets running:

• Windows 11
• Windows 10

Command | Monitor (formerly OpenManage Client Instrumentation)

Dell Command | Monitor manages client computers using the Common Information Model (CIM) standard and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), which are management protocols. This reduces the total cost of ownership, and improves security. It provides a holistic approach to managing all the devices in a network including the following devices:

• Clients
• Servers
• Storage
• Networking
• Software

Using CIM you can access Dell Command | Monitor through Web Services for Management Standards (WSMAN).

Dell Command | Monitor contains the underlying driver set that collects client computer information from different sources.

These include:

• BIOS
• CMOS
• System Management BIOS (SMBIOS)
• System Management Interface (SMI)
• Operating System
• Application Programming Interface (APIs)
• Dynamic-Link Library (DLLs)
• Registry Settings

Dell Command | Monitor retrieves this information through the CIM Object Manager (CIMOM) interface, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) stack, or SNMP agent.

Dell Command | Monitor enables IT-Administrators to remotely collect asset information. They can modify CMOS settings, receive proactive notifications about potential fault conditions, and get alerts for potential security breaches. These alerts are available as events in the event log, CIM Indication. They are received as SNMP traps after importing the Management Information Base (MIB) file and monitoring it.

Dell Command | Monitor is used to gather an asset inventory from the computer including BIOS settings, through CIM implementation or SNMP agent. It can be integrated into a console such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager by directly accessing the CIM information. Alternatively, through other console vendors who have implemented the Dell Command | Monitor integration. You can create custom scripts to target key areas of interest. You can use these scripts to monitor inventory, BIOS settings, and your computers health.

Command | Update

Dell Command | Update is an easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (UI) and Command-Line Interface (CLI) tool. You can use it to update Dell client computers with the latest drivers, BIOS, and firmware. It is a one-for-one stand-alone utility.
