Ursache

The iDRAC security patch update in the iDRAC 4.40 firmware causes this issue.

Lösung

Do Not Replace Any Hardware!

  • Replacement system boards with iDRAC9 5.10.00.00 and later firmware prevents this restoration failure.
  • If the issue already occurred, updating the iDRAC firmware to version 5.10 cannot address the issue.

Here is the procedure:

  1. Log in to iDRAC by SSH and run the below racadm command:
    racadm get iDRAC.pMLicensing.Generation
  1. If the racadm command output is 15, then run the below command:
    racadm set iDRAC.pMLicensing.Generation 0
Note: If the user updated the iDRAC firmware to 5.10 or later, then the above commands do not work. Downgrade the iDRAC firmware to 5.00 first.
  1. Install IDM from the iDRAC web page > Maintenance > System Update > Manual Update.
  2. Click Install.
  3. Go to Job Queue.
  4. Wait until OEM ID Module job shows Completed 100%.
  5. Reboot iDRAC.
Note: This is not the same as rebooting the machine.
Reboot IDRAC from webUI

  1. After the iDRAC page comes back, reboot the host.
