Symptome
Network ICMP connectivity alerts are generated when hosts are directly attached to PowerStore over ports 0 and 1.
Alert example:
The PowerStore Manager user interface (UI) shows:
Figure 1: Screenshot of PowerStore Manager UI Error Message
Node A iSCSI target IP address xx.xx.xx.x1 is not able to ping Node B iSCSI target IP address xx.xx.xx.x2 and xx.xx.xx.x3

Ursache
When hosts are directly attached to the PowerStore, there are no iSCSI data switches. The Ongoing Network Validation (ONV) creates ICMP connectivity alerts as the nodes are not able to ping each other's storage IP addresses.
It is not possible to clear ICMP connectivity alerts related to the storage networks when hosts are directly attached to the PowerStore.

Lösung
Using the bond0 ports for host connectivity requires ToR switches as these ports are used for PowerStore internal communication.
Direct attached iSCSI or NVMe TCP hosts are supported on other ports, but not for ports 0 and 1 (bond0) on the 4-port card.
For PowerStore 500T models, the last two ports on 4-port card are reserved for future use and not available for host connectivity.
The Ongoing Network Validation still creates ICMP connectivity alerts with current PowerStoreOS versions. The ONV logic is expected to be redesigned in a future PowerStoreOS release to suppress the ICMP connectivity alerts related to iSCSI direct attach hosts.
