Dell D7523QT Monitor Usage and Troubleshooting Guide

  • On-Screen Display (OSD) adjustments for ease of set-up and screen optimization.

See installation instruction that comes with the third-party wall mount. VESA-compatible base mounting kit (600 x 400) mm.

NOTE: Do not attempt to wall mount the monitor by yourself. It should be installed by qualified installers.
  1. Install wall plate on the Wall.
  2. Place the monitor panel on a soft cloth or cushion on a stable flat table.
  3. Attach the mounting brackets from the wall mounting kit to the monitor.
  4. Install monitor to wall plate.
  5. Ensure monitor is mounted vertically with no tilt forward or backward and a leveler is used to assist to mount the monitor.

1 Power on/Standby Power on the computer or go into Standby mode.
2 Input source Select input source. Press Button 3 or Button 5 to select from HOME, HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3, DP. Press Button 12 to confirm and exit.
3 Up Press to move the selection up in Settings menu.
4 Left Press to move the selection left in Settings menu.
5 Down Press to move the selection down in Settings menu.
6 Menu Press to turn on the Settings menu.
7 Decrease Brightness Press to decrease the Brightness.
8 Decrease Volume Press to decrease the Volume.
9 Mute Press to turn the mute function on/off.
10 Home Launcher Go to Home Launcher.
11 Right Press to move the selection right in Settings menu.
12 OK Confirm an entry or selection.
13 Back button Return to the previous menu page or exit the current function.
14 Increase Brightness Press to increase the brightness.
15 Increase Volume Press to increase the volume.

Operating range of the remote control

Point the top of the remote control toward the LCD monitor’s remote sensor during button operation.

Use the remote control within a distance of about 8 m from remote control sensor or at a horizontal and vertical angle of within 30° within a distance of about 5.6 m.

NOTE: The remote control may not function properly when the remote control sensor on the monitor is under direct sunlight or strong illumination, or when there is an obstacle in the path of signal transmission.

Connecting your monitor to the computer

To connect your Dell D7523QT monitor to your computer:

  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Connect the power cable to the monitor.
  3. Connect the video cable (DisplayPort, or HDMI) between the computer and the monitor.

  4. Connect the USB upstream cable between the monitor and computer (if available).
  5. Turn on the monitor.
  6. Turn on the computer.

Dell D7523QT monitor orientation must always be in landscape mode. This includes any wall-mounted monitors, monitors on a stand, or a monitor arm. In a multiple monitor setup, Dell D7523QT should not be rotated either to 180° (landscape) or 90° (portrait).

CAUTION: Dell D7523QT setup must comply with the recommended panel orientation and working angle only. Setting up the monitor in an orientation that is not recommended may damage the monitor and/or cause a safety hazard.
NOTE: This is applicable for a monitor with a stand. When any other stand is bought, see the respective stand setup guide.

With the stand that is attached to the monitor, you can tilt and swivel the monitor for the most comfortable viewing angle.

When mounted on the wall or on a monitor arm, the setup must comply with the recommended panel orientation and working angle.

Use the buttons on the monitor or remote control to access the on-screen display (OSD) menu of the monitor.

NOTE: Any changes that you make are automatically saved. Whenever you move to another menu item, exit the OSD menu, or wait for the OSD menu to automatically close.

Resetting a monitor to factory defaults can help resolve many video or display-related issues. To reset your Dell D7523QT monitor to factory default settings:

  1. Press Button 2 on front panel to open Settings.
  2. Go to System.
  3. Go to Factory reset.
  4. Select Reset.

WARNING:The monitor LCD panel duty cycle is designed for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. Usage higher than the designed duty cycle may result in premature decrease in panel backlight luminance, which may not be covered under warranty.

  • Ensure that the power cable connecting to the monitor is properly connected and secure.
  • Verify that the power outlet is functioning properly by using any other electrical equipment.
  • Ensure that the power button is pressed fully.
  • Test with a known-good cable and known-good computer if possible.
No Video - Power LED On
  • Increase the brightness and contrast of the monitor using the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
  • Check for bent or broken pins in the video cable connector.
  • Reseat both ends of the video cable.
  • Try with a known-good video cable.
  • Ensure that the correct input source is selected using the Input Source menu.
  • Test the monitor with a known-good computer if available.
Poor Focus
Shaky or Jittery Video
Missing Pixels
  • Turn off the monitor and then turn on the monitor after a few minutes.
  • Pixel that is permanently off is a natural defect that can occur in LCD technology.
Stuck On/Off Pixels
  • Turn off and then turn on the monitor.
  • A few permanently bright or dark pixels are considered normal by industry standards. The exact number of pixels that are allowed varies depending on the monitor. See the Dell LCD Monitor Pixel Guidelines for more details.

  • Ensure that the video cable connecting the monitor to the computer is connected properly and is secure.
  • Check for bent or broken pins in the video cable connector.
Screen image is too small.
Cannot adjust the monitor with the buttons on the back of the panel.
  • Turn off the monitor.
  • Unplug the power cable.
  • Plug the power cable back.
  • Turn On the monitor.
No Input Signal when user controls are pressed.
  • Check the signal source. Ensure that the computer is not in power-saving mode by moving the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard.
  • Ensure that the video cable is connected properly with the monitor and the computer.
  • Restart the computer.
The picture does not fill the entire screen.
  • Due to different video formats (aspect ratio) of DVDs and videos, the monitor may display on the screen.

Using Windows Display Settings

In Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8 or 8.1, and Windows 7:

  1. For Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 only, select the Desktop tile to switch to classic desktop view.
  2. Right-click the desktop and click Screen Resolution.
  3. Click the dropdown list of the Screen Resolution and select 3840 x 2160.
  4. Click OK.

Using Nvidia Control Panel

To change the resolution using the Nvidia Control Panel:

  1. Right-click the desktop and click Nvidia Control Panel.
  2. Click the + symbol next to Display on the left pane.
  3. Select Change Resolution under Display.
  4. In the dropdown menu on the right pane, select the resolution 3840 x 2160.
  5. Click Apply.

Using AMD Catalyst Control Center

To change the resolution using the AMD Catalyst Control Center:

  1. Right-click the desktop and click AMD Catalyst Control Center.
  2. Click the + symbol next to Display on the left pane.
  3. Select Change Resolution under Display.
  4. In the dropdown menu on the right pane, select the resolution 3840 x 2160.
  5. Click Apply.
