Symptoms

The Dell Pro Premium Collaboration keyboard does not work on RF Wireless

Are you experiencing a connection or detection issue with your Dell Pro Premium Collaboration keyboard over the RF wireless network? Did your issue start after updating the keyboard firmware through Dell Peripheral Manager (DPeM), or Dell Display and Peripheral Manager (DDPM)?

Although the keyboard is no longer working in RF dongle mode, the keyboard continues to work through a Bluetooth network connection.

  • Dell Pro Premium Collaboration Keyboard and Mouse (KM900)
  • Dell Pro Premium Collaboration Keyboard (KB900)
Note: This issue is limited to those who are updating the keyboard firmware from version 1056 to version 1064 or newer. Anyone who updates from a version below or above 1056 do not experience the same wireless issue.

Cause

The wireless issue is due to a firmware update problem.

Resolution

Note: You must have administrator rights on your computer to make any operating system changes or update any software on the peripheral device.

The Dell Engineering team has released a new firmware to resolve this problem. (Version 1068.)

You can update the keyboards firmware using the DPeM or DDPM utility over Bluetooth:

  1. Ensure that the keyboard is connected over Bluetooth and that a utility like DDPM recognizes it on your computer.

  2. Check for any available keyboard firmware updates in DDPMs Settings > Updates.

  3. Click Check for updates and follow the instructions carefully.

  4. Install version 1068. If the update fails, try restarting your computer and attempt the update again.

  5. RF wireless functionality returns with the new firmware.

You can find out further information from the utilities and keyboards own documentation:

You can also update your keyboard from the Drivers & Downloads available from its Dell product page. Update the Keyboard firmware using the Dell Premier Collaboration Keyboard KB900 Firmware Updater, version v1068, A00-00 or later.
