PowerStore: Incomplete IO module activation results in issues in NVMe expansion enclosure

Summary: Incomplete I/O module activation may result in issues in either NVMe expansion enclosure (ENS24) or host connectivity.

This article applies to This article does not apply to This article is not tied to any specific product. Not all product versions are identified in this article.

Symptoms

Following I/O Module conversion to V2 or adding a new I/O module (SLIC), when activation was not successfully completed, may result in either:

  • NVMe expansion enclosure (ENS24) connectivity issues, or
  • Host connectivity (failure to map volumes or configure network bonds/connectivity)

Cause

An I/O module procedure is not followed, and the I/O module is not activated.
A consecutive NDU to PowerStore version early to 4.1 may have occurred, which will activate the I/O module while skipping some required configuration as part of this process flow.

Resolution

If this issue occurs, contact technical support for assistance.
