Secure Boot-certifikater bruges som en del af Secure Boot-processen, som hjælper med at beskytte din computer mod bootkits, en type malware, der er designet til at inficere en kundes opstartsindlæser eller opstartsproces, hvilket gør det muligt for ondsindet kode at køre på computeren. Når certifikaterne udløber, kan computeren ikke længere hente opdateringer til Windows Boot Manager og Secure Boot-komponenterne.

Dell-kunder bør begynde at undersøge deres interne aktiver og processer for at sikre, at de er klar til den kommende Microsoft-certifikatændring. Cause
Microsoft 2011 Secure Boot Certificates udløber fra og med juni 2026.
Resolution
Dell samarbejder med Microsoft for at sikre, at Dell-enheder er klar. Microsoft planlægger at begynde at opdatere den aktive Secure Boot-database via Windows Update fra anden halvdel af 2025. Parallelt hermed opdaterer Dell standarddatabaserne for sikker opstart med BIOS-opdateringer, så de indeholder Microsofts nye certifikater, hvilket startede i 2024.
I løbet af 2025 tilføjer Dell 2023-certifikatet til alle kvalificerede platforme. For computere, der ikke er angivet nedenfor, men som stadig leveres fra fabrikken, opdateres den fabriksinstallerede BIOS med de nye certifikater. For computere, der allerede er i marken, anbefaler Dell Technologies, at computer-BIOS er holdes opdateret i denne periode for at sikre, at 2023-certifikatet er i standard Secure Boot-databasen.
