Dell Unity: SSH connection may not be available when running the SP is failed over to the secondary SP. (Dell Correctable)

Symptoms

After a Management IP failover occurs, it is possible to connect to the Unisphere UI but not using SSH.

This behavior has been reported with Dell Unity OE 5.1.

When this event occurs, although SSH Protocol is enabled in the Unisphere UI, the menu shows the same state as when it is disabled.

SSH Connection was not restored after trying to disable and enable SSH from the Unisphere UI.
 

Cause

This event is caused when a Race Condition occurs in an internal processing due to a timing problem in the code execution.

Resolution

Resolution:
The fix is in Unity OE 5.2.0.

Workaround:
A workaround exists, but interaction by Dell Support is required. Contact Dell Support and reference this KB number.

- When connecting to Dell Unity via IPMI, if there is a problem, the command result will be displayed as follows.

- If there is no problem, the command result will look like this
