Symptoms
A static noise is heard when playing videos using Media Player. This happens on computers using an NVIDIA RTX 5070, NVIDIA RTX 5080, or NVIDIA RTX 5090 connected using DisplayPort (DP) to a monitor with built-in speakers.
Affected Platforms:
- Alienware Area-51 AAT2250
- Alienware Aurora ACT1250
- Dell Tower Plus EBT2250
Cause
The built-in Media Player experiences software glitches that cause noise during audio playback, especially with the NVIDIA RTX 50 series cards or codecs.
Resolution
There are two solutions:
- Use a third-party media player (such as PotPlayer, PowerDVD, or VLC media player, and so on).
- Connect the speakers to the computer motherboard’s audio output port instead of the monitor.
