Symptoms

Dell Technologies is receiving reports of issues using Dell earbuds and headsets with a mobile phone. Issues such as:

  • No audio or sound is heard through the connected audio device
  • Unresponsive controls on the connected audio device
  • Connection instability on the connected audio device

Note: The audio devices having the issues connect to the phone using either a wireless dongle, a wired USB cable, or a wired 3.5 mm jack.

Cause

The wired headsets and wireless dongle audio devices are optimized for computer environments and may not function correctly with a mobile phone. The pairing and firmware behavior is not validated for mobile phones.
