Cause

Dell Peripheral Manager (DPM) is a utility that comes with the Dell WB7022 webcam. It has a feature that is called Walk Away Lock.

This feature is used when you leave your computer unlocked, or it does not detect movement after a period of time. Your computer will display an on-screen countdown, and then it will lock the computer for you.

Resolution

There is a check box in DPM against Walk Away Lock. Which is located under Proximity Detection. You can use the check box to enable or disable this feature, as needed.

Note: If your computer is already set up with its own Proximity Sensor, we recommend that you disable this feature in DPM to avoid any possible conflicts.

Note: If Proximity Detection is used on your computer, and you leave the webcam Lens cap on. The camera cannot detect a human presence.
