L'interfaccia API REST di NetWorker viene utilizzata per accedere in modo programmatico al servizio di protezione dei dati NetWorker.  NetWorker Authentication Service (authc) è configurato su un NetWorker Server remoto, pertanto la richiesta dell'API REST NetWorker deve includere le informazioni authc.  L'interfaccia NetWorker REST API v3 e versioni successive possono includere il server authc con un'intestazione personalizzata.  Il valore della chiave deve fornire l'indirizzo IP del server authc o il nome di dominio completo (FQDN) e la porta authc (default=9090):
 
Legenda: X-NW-AUTHC-BASE-URL
Valore: AUTHC_IP/AUTHC_FQDN:9090

Il seguente esempio di client API mostra come usare questa intestazione per indicare all'URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) dell'API di utilizzare l'host specificato nell'intestazione per l'autorizzazione, anziché l'host specificato nell'URI.

In questo esempio, ci stiamo connettendo all'API REST su un server NetWorker "nve":

Tuttavia, l'autorizzazione per questa richiesta è stata elaborata su "networker-mc":

Se non si dispone dell'accesso a un client API, è possibile verificarlo anche con il comando linux curl .
