Dell Power Manager contains Group Policy Templates which enables the admin to control certain features with group policies. (For example the template DellPowerManagerThermalModes.admx is required for preconfiguring a thermal profile and lock the settings for the end users.)

Dell Power Manager Group Policy Templates stop working after upgrading the Dell Power Manager from v3.11 and earlier to v3.14 and later. The Dell Power Manager user interface shows the default settings, and the settings are not locked.

Cause

No cause information is available.

Resolution

The IT Administrator must manually push a Group Policy Update to the clients again in order to get the missing Windows Registry Value restored.

After that, the preconfigured thermal profile should be preselected properly again and users see it. Your system administrator has set this power setting in the Power Manager user interface.

There are no plans to fix this issue because the functionality of Dell Power Manager is integrated into Dell Optimizer.
