Symptoms
Alienware 16 Area-51 AA16250 or Alienware 18 Area-51 AA18250 may take up to 110 seconds to boot into the Windows operating system. It can take up to 110 seconds maximum after a dirty shutdown, and 90 seconds maximum after resuming from hibernate, warm boot, cold boot, or BIOS recover.

Cause
Two contributing factors:
- The Intel reference code execution duration is approximately 1.6 seconds.
- The Alienware animated logo and associated brand sound require approximately 4.5 seconds.
Resolution
Note: Before starting the update, perform the following:
- Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to Back Up and Recovery.
- Connect the AC adapter.
Updating the BIOS to version 1.4.1 or later on the computer resolves the issue. To download and install the BIOS, refer to the BIOS Update Guide.
