Symptoms

Latitude Chromebook does not automatically turn on when I open the laptop lid

You may notice that your Latitude 5300 2-in-1 or 5400 Chromebook laptop does not automatically turn on when you open the LCD lid.

This feature was available in some of Dell's previous laptops. However, this feature is not present for these particular computers.

You must use the power button to turn these laptops on.

Note: All new Chromebooks are designed to go into sleep mode when you log in and you close the LCD lid. If you are not logged in and close the LCD lid, then they are designed to turn off instead.
