Symptoms
The monitor does not turn on after hot plugging the video cable
You may experience a start-up issue when hot-plugging a C5522QT monitor's video cable to your Dell laptop.
The monitor does not turn on under the following circumstances:
- The monitor does not turn on if you plug the monitors USB Type-C cable to a laptop in its operating system
- The monitor does not turn on if you plug the monitors DisplayPort (DP) cable to a laptop in its operating system
- The monitor does not turn on if it is restarted while it is still connected to a laptop in its operating system
Note: This was confirmed using laptops from the Latitude xx30 generation. However, it is not limited to those laptop models.
Cause
The Dell Engineering team identified a problem with the firmware on the C5522QT monitor.
Resolution
Note: You must have administrator rights on your laptop to make any operating system changes or update any software for any attached peripheral.
Dell Technologies provides a replacement firmware file for this monitor that is available on the Dell Support site.
Update the monitor firmware Application driver to Dell C5522QT Monitor Firmware Update, version M2T103 or later. To download and install the Dell_C5522QT_FWUpdate_M2T103_Windows.exe see:
