Troubleshooting Steps for Dell USB-C and Thunderbolt Docking Stations No Power Issue.
Step 1: Initial Check
Plug the AC adapter power into the Docking Station and observe the initial behavior:
- The docking Station power light blinked three times and then turned off.
- The fan runs for 5 seconds and then turns off.
If the above behavior is observed, go to step 3. If not, move to step 2.
Step 2: Alternate AC Adapter Test
If the Docking Station does not power up:
- Try a known-good AC adapter if available.
- If the issue persists, contact Dell technical support.
Step 3: Connection Check
Ensure that the Dock Type-C cable is connected to compatible platforms with the latest BIOS/FW drivers:
- Power on the platform.
- Check if the dock Type-C cable LED lights up.
- Verify if the dock power button lights up.
- After logging into Windows, check the charging status in the bottom-right corner.
Note: If the Docking Station has power without "No Power" issues after completing the above steps, focus on platform-related issues. Continue troubleshooting if symptoms persist.
