Fan Behavior:

The fans in a PowerEdge XE9860 server equipped with NVIDIA A100 GPUs run at 100% always, regardless of system load.

 

Cause

The root cause of the issue is linked to iDRAC version 7.20.30.00, which introduced an unsupported sensor into the thermal table.

Resolution

Update the iDRAC Firmware version to 7.20.60.50 to resolve the Issue.
