Symptoms

Multilayer Director Switch (MDS) 9700 met een DS-X9448-768K9 of DS-X9648-1536K9 lijnkaart die een corrigeerbare ECC-fout had.

Of

MDS 9396S heeft een corrigeerbare ECC-fout op module 1.

Er werden verschillende ECC 1-bits fouten waargenomen op de switch tijdens de logboekregistratie in switches uit de 9700- of 9396-serie:

Cause

CSCve70443: Enkelvoudige bits ECC-fouten voorkomen bij aanmelding in het syslog-bericht.

Resolution

Tijdelijke oplossing 1
Antwoorden zijn informatief van aard en het bericht kan worden genegeerd, tenzij er binnen enkele minuten veel herhalende fouten (honderden) zijn tegen dezelfde regelkaart.

Als er veel herhalende ECC-fouten op dezelfde lijnkaart staan, moet dit worden onderzocht als een hardwareprobleem. Om dit geval te valideren, laadt u indien nodig de module of de switch opnieuw en vervangt u de module of switch als de fouten aanhouden.

Aanvullende informatie:
Single-bit ECC-fouten zijn niet ongewoon en kunnen worden gecorrigeerd.

Tijdelijke oplossing 2
Upgrade naar 6.2.21 of hoger.
