Symptoms

The WWAN drops but reconnects automatically on Dell Pro Rugged Tablets

 

The WWAN card can take some time to appear in the Windows operating system. This happens whenever the Dell Pro Rugged Tablet boots into the operating system or resumes from sleep or stand by.

The card is detected after a short time.

This affects the following products:

  • Dell Pro Rugged 10 Tablet RA00260
  • Dell Pro Rugged 12 Tablet RA02260

Cause

Multiple tasks operating simultaneously cause the card detection issue. The tablet automatically recovers the module as the detection issue is only temporary.

Resolution

There is no impact on the WWAN cards network functionality in the Dell Pro Rugged Tablets. The card automatically recovers in approximately 90 seconds.

Wait for the recovery process to complete.
