SSD SMART Error and Warning Using SSSTC CL1-3DXXX-Q11 Drives

Symptoms
A Dell legacy laptop or desktop using a CL1-3DXXX-Q11 SSD from the brand SSSTC reports the following on-screen error or warning:
"SSD Parameter critical warning | no space available"What is a S.M.A.R.T. error or warning?
SMART is an abbreviation of Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology. It is an integrated diagnostic capability checking the drive. The drive is warning that it detects an internal fault.
Affected Platforms:

- Dell Vostro family of laptops and desktops
- Dell XPS family of laptops and desktops
- Dell Latitude family of laptops
- Dell OptiPlex family of desktops
- Dell Precision family of mobile and fixed workstations

Cause
This is due to a conflict in the algorithm integrated into the solid state drive's firmware. It causes a false diagnostic warning, but does not affect the performance of the laptop or desktop using the SSD.
Resolution
Note: Before starting the update, perform the following steps:
- Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to: Back Up and Recovery
- Connect the AC adapter if using a laptop, tablet, or All-in-One platform to run the update.
Updating the solid state drive firmware on the computer resolves the issue.
