Resolution
Dell Optimizer and Dell Peripheral Manager
Current bundling of Dell Optimizer (DO) and Dell Peripheral Manager (DPeM) in DO 3.2 leads to DO service starting after DPeM on first install or power on which leads to Presence Detection features being available in both DO and DPeM during the first boot session if a Dell peripheral with an external sensor (example: Acadia webcam) is connected.
- Short-Term Resolution:
- User must reboot their computer at which time DPeM detects DO and directs users to DO for UPD features.
- Long-Term Resolution:
- DO/DPeM teams to implement the fix so that DPeM will detect DO even when DO service starts after DPeM service.
- Looking to release fix in DO 4.1 and DPeM 1.6.6 (Possible release June 2023).
