ECS: EX3000: How to collect RAID controller logs

Instructions

When reviewing disk issues on the ECS EX3000 further logs can be gathered to review lower-level process presented by the raid controller logs.

1: ssh to the node with the prospective disk issues needing further analysis.

Command:

# ssh <ECS Host IP or FQDN>

2: Gather the raid logs with storcli64 and store the log information to /home/admin/

Command: (no output expected)

#sudo /opt/MegaRAID/storcli/storcli64 /cAll show AliLog > /home/admin/`hostname`_raid_$(date '+%Y-%m-%d').log

Example:

admin@ecsnode1:~> sudo /opt/MegaRAID/storcli/storcli64 /cAll show AliLog > /home/admin/`hostname`_raid_$(date '+%Y-%m-%d').log
admin@ecsnode1:~>

3: Confirm that the log was generated and populated.

Command:

#ls -ltr *raid*

Example:

admin@ecsnode1:~> ls -ltr *raid*
-rw-r--r-- 1 admin users 3677088 Nov 26 01:36 ecsnode1.gslabs.dell.com_raid_2024-11-26.log
admin@ecsnode1:~>

If we encounter a disk issues or failure on the EX3000, the logs collected can be posted to your service request for more in-depth analysis if needed.
