How to Change the Hyperlink Destination for Advanced Threat Protection Event Summary Bulletins

Affected Products:

  • Dell Security Management Server
  • Dell Security Management Server Virtual
  • Dell Data Protection | Enterprise Edition
  • Dell Data Protection | Virtual Edition

Affected Versions:

  • v9.2 and Later

As an administrator, you may find that the links on the Advanced Threat Protection Event Summaries do not reference a working location in your environment. By default, these links use the hostname of the server.

To change the link in the summaries:

  1. Open application.properties in X:\Program Files\Dell\Enterprise Edition\Security Server\conf where X is the drive letter for the Dell Security Management Server install.

  1. Edit the server.host variable to match the location for the link.
  2. Then, save and close the file.

  1. Restart the security server service.

The next summary should reflect the new link:

Note: This does not change any Advanced Threat Protection Event Summary that is created before the Security Server service is restarted.

To change the link in the summaries:

  1. Open the Dell Security Management Server Virtual console.
  2. Select Launch Shell.

  1. Switch user to dellsupport (ddpsupport in versions before v9.11) using the su command.
  2. Open application.properties in /opt/dell/server/security-server/conf/

  1. Edit the server.host variable to match the location for the link. Then, save and close the file.

  1. Exit back to the Administration Console and select Stop Application within the Basic Configuration menu.

  1. Once all services have stopped, press the Esc key to return to the Basic Configuration menu and select Start Application.
