Dell Security Server 會從用戶端上的端點收集 Active Directory 資訊，並在將清查推送至 Dell Security Server 時，將此資料提供給伺服器以用於端點群組規格。
在至少一個屬於該 Active Directory 群組的端點已成功針對 Dell Security Server 啟動之前，無法將 Active Director 裝置群組新增至 WebUI。
警示：Shield 會在初始啟動期間傳送清查，從 Shield v8.12 開始。如此一來，Dell Security Server 一開始即知道端點所屬群組，並可指派正確的原則。執行舊版 Shield 的端點無法指派給 Active Directory 端點群組，直到清查報告其 Active Directory 群組成員資格已傳送至伺服器為止。
