Resolution
In previous versions of the Port: USB policy was set to disabled, and the endpoint was a desktop, the policy would be ignored. This would cause loss of access to USB input devices such as keyboards and mouses.
Beginning with Dell Data Protection | Encryption Shield v8.7 now enforces the Port: USB policy on desktops.
Dell Security Management Server v7.5 and later offers more control over devices through the Class: Human Interface Devices policy, under Port Control System.
To enable the policy, allowing access to keyboards and mouses, Set Port: USB policy to disabled.
If the Port: USB policy is set to disabled before upgrading the Windows Shield to 8.7 and later, verify the policy for Class: Human Interface Devices is set to Enabled.
