The Local Management Console (LMC) is used to manage the encryption and behavior of Dell Encryption Personal (formerly Dell Data Protection | Personal Edition).

The LMC can be opened through:

To access the LMC through System Tray:

  1. On the endpoint with Dell Encryption Personal, click the arrow in the bottom right of the system tray.

  1. Right-click the Dell Encryption Personal icon and select Open Dell Data Protection | Encryption.

Once opened, the LMC can be used to:

  • Manage Encryption
  • Change Administrative Password
  • Escrow Recovery Keys
  • Transfer or Import Settings
  • Modify Templates
  • Modify Policies
  • Identify Product Version
  • Hide Windows Encryption Icon

To access the LMC through File Options:

  • On the endpoint with Dell Encryption Personal, right-click any file and select Open Dell Encryption.
