The Local Management Console (LMC) is used to manage the encryption and behavior of Dell Encryption Personal (formerly Dell Data Protection | Personal Edition).

The LMC can be opened through:
To access the LMC through System Tray:
- On the endpoint with Dell Encryption Personal, click the arrow in the bottom right of the system tray.

- Right-click the Dell Encryption Personal icon and select Open Dell Data Protection | Encryption.

Once opened, the LMC can be used to:
- Manage Encryption
- Change Administrative Password
- Escrow Recovery Keys
- Transfer or Import Settings
- Modify Templates
- Modify Policies
- Identify Product Version
- Hide Windows Encryption Icon
To access the LMC through File Options:
- On the endpoint with Dell Encryption Personal, right-click any file and select Open Dell Encryption.
