Resolution

Stop the Dell Compatibility Server service. Make a backup copy of the server_config.xml file first.

Find the following line in the server_config.xml file:

<property name="security.authorization.method.IDeviceManager.getSdeKeys"> <value>SecAdmin</value> </property>
Note: This is the configuration that determines which administrators can download SDE keys from the server.

To allow the Helpdesk admin to do this and nothing additional, edit the line to:

<property name="security.authorization.method.IDeviceManager.getSdeKeys"> <value>SecAdmin,HelpDeskAdmin</value></property>

The Dell Compatibility Server service must be restarted in order for the change to take effect.
