Both Microsoft and Intel have found an incompatibility between the Windows 10 May 2019 Update (build 1903) and certain versions of the Intel RST driver.
What is the Intel RST driver and what does it do? (Intel Rapid Storage Technology) is an application in Windows that improves performance and reliability for those computers using SATA disks for desktop, mobile, and server computers. If you are using one or multiple SATA disk drives, you get the advantage of better performance and lower power consumption.
Please use the appropriate solution below if one of the following messages is displayed:

Microsoft has placed a compatibility hold on those computers running iRST driver revisions between 188.8.131.522 and 184.108.40.2063. When Windows Update detects one of these IRST driver versions, it will not allow the update to continue until the driver is updated.
Microsoft Advises that this issue was resolved in KB4512941 The safeguard hold performed by Microsoft is expected to be removed in early September 2019.
Microsoft recommends you go to the Dell website and update the iRST driver to revision 220.127.116.114 or above:
