Are Dell G-Series gaming laptops compatible with Dell's docking stations?
The Dell G-Series of gaming laptops are designed with the specific needs of mainstream gamers in mind. Powerful CPUs and graphics, plus efficient cooling technology in a laptop, in a gaming-first package that does not break the bank.
Dell has designed this family of laptops for gaming. As such making them compatible with Dell's docking stations was not one of their considerations during design and testing.
These laptops were not designed with compatibility with Dell's docking stations in mind.
Note: As they were not designed to work with the docks, they were never tested with any of Dell's docks. Without thorough testing by our engineering group, Dell Technologies cannot certify any Dell docking station as being compatible or capable of working with any laptop.
The Dell G-Series of gaming laptops were designed to work with a series of dongle cables or certain home docking solutions. For those looking to expand the laptop to other devices, Dell Technologies recommend running a search in the Dell shop for supported hardware instead:
