This article troubleshoots "No Video" issues encountered on an Optiplex 760 or 960 while using a Display Port to DVI adapter.

1. Background


Some Optiplex 760 or 960 may experience having no video when using a DisplayPort to DVI adapter.  An error message that reads "the system contains a PCI video card" can also be seen even when one isn't being used.  This may happen when the system has an empty PCI riser card inserted into the PCI-e slot and the onboard video (integrated) is used.



2. Solution_Steps


Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Download the latest BIOS for the system. Do NOT install it.
2. Shut down the system and remove the PCI riser card.
3. Reboot and proceed with BIOS flash.
4. Shut down and reinsert the PCI riser card. Reboot.
