VxRail: Enabling vSphere Lifecycle Manager Validation Fails Due to Invalid Depot

Symptoms

Error messages observed:

Failed task sync depot. The format of metadata in None is invalid. This may caused by network issue, suggest try again.

The VxRail cluster is not ready for vSphere Lifecycle Manager enablement. Complete the recommended actions before enabling vLCM.

Cause

When enabling vLCM or proceeding vLCM upgrade, it must sync all depots. If a depot is invalid and cannot be connected, metadata of this depot cannot be retrieved.

Resolution

Disable invalid vLCM depot.

  1. Log in to vCenter with administrator credentials.
  2. Open Menu > Lifecycle Manager > Settings > Patch Setup
        Check all Download Source, if the Connectivity Status is Not Connected, choose this item then Click DISABLE.
  3. Continue to perform the Enable vLCM or vLCM upgrade operation.
