Instructions
- Verify that the Avamar browse admin user exists in Isilon. Default is av-browse-admin:
Command: isi auth users list Sample output: REDACTED_CLUSTER-1# isi auth users list Name --------------- Guest av-browse-admin root admin compadmin remotesupport ftp insightiq www _ypldap _lldpd nobody git_daemon isdmgmt --------------- Total: 14
If the av-browse-admin user does not exist, contact Dell Support referencing this KB.
- Verify that the Avamar browse admin user password is not expired and that the user is enabled. The example below shows that the account is locked, password expired, and password expiration policy is enabled.
Command: isi auth users view av-browse-admin

- Enable the browse admin user if it is locked or disabled by running:

- Reset the Avamar browse admin user password by running:
Command: isi auth users modify av-browse-admin --set-password Sample output: REDACTED_CLUSTER-1# isi auth users modify av-browse-admin --set-password password: confirm:
- Set Avamar browse admin password to never expire by running:
Note: VERIFY WITH CUSTOMER WHAT THEIR IT SECURITY PASSWORD POLICY IS BEFORE APPLYING THIS CHANGE!
With customer's approval, run:
Command: isi auth users modify av-browse-admin --password-expires=no
- Verify that the settings were successfully applied by running:
Command: isi auth users view av-browse-admin
