Dell USB Type-C to Ethernet dongle not connected error

 

The Windows operating system may report the following error messaging when you connect your Dell Adapter USB-C to Ethernet (PXE Boot).

Task Sequencing Error
Failed to find a valid network adapter.
For more information, contact your system administrator or
helpdesk operator.

 

Cause

This has been identified as a driver issue.

Resolution

Note: You must have administrator rights on your laptop to make any operating system changes or update any software.
  1. Browse to https://www.dell.com/support/drivers.
  2. Identify your Dell laptop.
    1. Select your Dell dongle from the catalog.
  3. Update the Network driver to Realtek USB Gigabit Ethernet (GBE) Controller driver, version 2.45.2021.825 A21 or later. Use the instructions in the following link to download and install the Realtek-USB-GBE-Ethernet-Controller-Driver_RXYCC_WIN_2.45.2021.824_A21_04.exe install file see:
