PowerEdge: Mellanox CX-6 NIC+RDMA Mode Incorrect Status in iDRAC UI

Summary: PowerEdge servers using Mellanox CX-6 Dell Part Number (DPN): 7TKND cards may report that the "NIC+RDMA mode" incorrectly shows "NIC, RDMA" on iDRAC UI.

Symptoms

 The NIC and RDMA Mode can be successfully disabled and enabled in the BIOS system setup configuration page.

The card's partition 1 and 2 protocol still shows RDMA on the iDRAC UI, like below:

Cause

The cause of the issue is related to the UI.

The UI is the root cause of the issue, leading to the incorrect display of the "NIC+RDMA mode" status in the iDRAC UI.

Resolution

  1. Do not replace hardware.
  2. Update the Mellanox firmware to the latest version.
